    • Fairfax Center Recreation Association (FCRA)

      The FCRA is the organization formed to manage and maintain the pool, clubhouse, and tot lot located at 11550 Cavalier Landing Court - in the Wescott Ridge community. All members of Ridgetop Commons, Wescott Ridge, and Parkside at Fairfax Center HOAs are automatically members of the FCRA. All information about the FCRA can be found here.

      Ridgewood Rezoning Update II - (03/2012) We received another update from the county about the Ridgewood rezoning - the official hearing with the board of supervisors has been rescheduled for 3/20/2012. It also looks like they tweaked some things like the amount of yard space. A copy of the mailing they sent us with much more information is available here.

      Ridgewood Rezoning Update - (01/2012) We received an update from the county about the Ridgewood rezoning - the official hearings with the planning commission and with the board of supervisors have been scheduled for 2/9/2012 and 2/28/2012, respectively. A copy of the mailing they sent us with much more information is available here.

      Ridgewood Rezoning - (09/2011) The area between Ridge Top Road and Waples Mill Road north of Government Center Parkway was originally approved to have mixed office and restaurant/retail space. The developers would now like to build 39 townhouses instead. Their rezoning application is here. Their rezoning map is here. An invitation letter from the Braddock district supervisor's office to attend a meeting about the rezoning is here. The developer's most recent site plan is here. The developers also provided us with drawings of what they expect the buildings to look like. The office buildings south of Government Center Parkway seen as though standing on Government Center Parkway near the Ridge Top Road intersection is here. The townhouses north of Government Center Parkway seen as though standing on Government Center Parkway near the Ridge Top Road intersection is here.

      Traffic Analysis for the Ridgewood Development - (02/2010) The area between Ridge Top Road and Waples Mill Road was approved by Fairfax county for the Ridgewood development. Ridgewood includes a hotel and apartments south of the new extension to Government Center Parkway. It was originally approved to have mixed office and restaurant/retail space north of Government Center Parkway. The developers would now like to build 46 townhouses north of Government Center Parkway instead. This is the analysis they did in February 2010 of the impact this change would have on traffic.

      Ridgewood Hotel Site Plan Notice - (02/2007) The plan for proposed construction of Ridgewood Hotel off of Waples Mill Road has been submitted to the Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services. [Note: The hotel's construction was completed in 2010].

      Proposed Exension to Government Center Parkway - (11/2006) The site plan for the extension of Government Center Parkway has been submitted to the Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services. This is in conjunction with the development of the property across from the FCRA Community Room. [Note: The extension was completed in 2009].

      Lee Highway Improvement Proposal - (11/2006) The site plan for turn lane improvements to Lee Highway (Route 29) has been submitted to the Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services. This is in conjunction with the development of the property across from the FCRA Community Room. [Note: I can't tell exactly what the planned improvements were, but I assume they're complete as of 2010].
